Deutz began hydrogen gas power generation demonstration project in China
Beijing, China, On September 11, the hydrogen gas internal combustion engine power generation demonstration project jointly developed by Zhongguancun Development Group (ZGC Group) and Deutz AG was launched in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. This project is the world's first commercial scale hydrogen internal combustion engine power generation project.

The core equipment of the demonstration project is the 7.8L hydrogen internal combustion engine developed by Deutz. As one of the core technical routes in the field of hydrogen energy application, the hydrogen internal combustion engine has the advantages of zero carbon emissions, long service life, combustion of industrial by-product hydrogen, fast response speed, and high reliability. The equipment has reached a leading level in thermal efficiency, emission control and operation stability, and has shown great potential for commercial application. In the future, it will gradually become one of the important choices in the field of new energy applications. According to the project leader, the demonstration project could generate up to 1 million kWh annually, and each device can reduce carbon emissions by about 800 tons per annum.
