China’s Envision to invest $1 billion in Spain to build an electrolyzer manufacturing plant
Shanghai, September 10, Envision Energy (Envision), a global leading company focusing on wind turbine and green hydrogen equipment manufacturing, announced it will invest $1 billion to build an electrolyzer plant and a net-zero industry park in Spain.
The agreement was signed between Spain government and Envision, witnessed by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez who is currently visiting China.

The facility will produce high-capacity PEM electrolyzer, low pressure and high pressure alkaline electrolyzers – critical for the electrolysis process needed in green hydrogen production and other module equipment.
The plant, which is expected to have 5 GW capacity, will play a pivotal role to realize Spain's Hydrogen Roadmap targets. The construction will start by June 2026, according to the announcement.
Additionally, Envision will develop the first integrated green hydrogen net zero industrial park in Europe. It will serve as the design, research, manufacture and service function for green hydrogen including electrolysis, air separation unit (ASU), ammonia synthesis and the completed module facility for scalable green ammonia production.
Envision said it will also cooperate with partners in Spain in E-methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel businesses, which is crucial to decarbonize Spain's hard-to-abate industries.
About Envision Energy and its hydrogen businesses
Envision Energy is a world-leading green technology company that provides renewable energy solutions for global enterprises, governments, and institutions. Encompassing three major business sectors - Smart Wind Turbines, Energy Storage, and Green Hydrogen Solutions.
Envision is building a comprehensive landscape in hydrogen energy field. On August 15, 2023, it signed a MoU with Canadian Funds Management giant Brookfield to supply wind power and green hydrogen solutions to Australian upcoming green hydrogen program.
On August 3, 2023, Envision Energy announced that its solar-wind power-green hydrogen-green ammonia-green methanol project got approval from regulatory authority of Inner Mongolia. This project has three phases: phase 1 will build 100,000 Nm³/h green hydrogen and 300,000 ton green ammonia capacity; phase 2 will have the same products and scale with phase 1; phase 3 will build 100,000 Nm³/h green hydrogen and 300,000 ton green methanol capacity. The total investment of this project would be 9.8bn Rmb ($1.36bn) and it is expected to be fully operational by 2028.
Envision Energy’s green hydrogen projects will likely use its proprietary electrolyzers. The company is constructing a 2GW electrolyzer plant in Inner Mongolia.
