Fact sheet of China’s hydrogen sector in 1H2022

Hydrogen economy is on fast track in China and becoming hot spot of investments. Here we collected the key data which could reflect the operation of China’s hydrogen and fuel cell industry during 1H2022.

• 18 provinces have announced their hydrogen strategy;

• 45 hydrogen production projects began construction during 1H2022, among which 22 projects are powered by renewable resources;

• 70 hydrogen refilling stations have been built by 1H2022;

• 3 hydrogen pipelines are in construction (pure and hybrid);

• 2,094 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles were produced and delivered by July, growing 110% yoy, 2/3 of which are commercial vehicles (trucks and vans);

• 30 plants were newly built or under construction, among which 7 for fuel cell stack and 10 for system;
