Hydrogen Truck is Accelerating in China

Although China’s economy may show some sign of weakness in 1st half of 2022, hydrogen industry is becoming more and more promising, especially for the hydrogen powered heavy duty truck (HDT). Several commercial deployment project of HDT were announced across China since beginning of July, including:

• Tianjin Rockcheck Steel Group received 20 trailer-trackors from Foshan Feichi Auto, these HDTs are powered by 110Kw fuel cell system;

• Grove Hydrogen Automobile reached a 500 units HDT procurement agreement with Huadian Inner Mongolia during next 3 three years (50 units by 2022);

• Grove Hydrogen Automobile reached a framework partnership agreement with Inner Mongolia Huitong to deliver 5000 units HDTs during next 5 years (50 units by 2022);

• Beijing purchased 40 hydrogen HDTs from Foton Auto, this is the first deployment of hydrogen HDT in the capacity of China.

As we have discussed, the year of 2022 may feature the commercialization of hydrogen HDTs in China by various industries.
