Jiangsu, the second wealthiest province in China, plans to deploy 100 hydrogen refueling stations and 10,000 FCEVs by 2030
Jiangsu province, the second largest provincial economy in China, issued a guidance policy- “Workplan for High Quality Hydrogen Industry Development in Jiangsu Province 2025-2030” on February 18, 2025. According to the document, Jiangsu province would deploy 100 hydrogen refueling stations and 10,000 FCEVs by 2030.
Jiangsu’s GDP in 2023 was Rmb Yuan12.8 trillion ($1.79 trillion), representing 10% of the total China economy. If Jiangsu were a country, it would be the 13th largest economy in the world between Mexico and Australia.

Jiangsu province is rich both for by-product hydrogen resources and hydrogen application scenarios. It produced 118.6 million ton crude steel and 1.65 million automobiles in 2023. As the most developed region in China, Jiangsu is also famous for technology innovations.
