Three hydrogen corridors began operation in China
As of Feb 2023, three hydrogen corridors have been established and began operation in China, according to industry news.
A hydrogen corridor refers to a network of locations, such as fueling stations, that provide hydrogen refueling infrastructure for hydrogen-powered vehicles along a specific route or region.
Similar to traditional gas stations along highways, hydrogen corridors are designed to provide convenient refueling options for hydrogen vehicles, enabling drivers to travel longer distances with ease. By establishing a network of hydrogen corridors, regions can encourage the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector.
All these 3 hydrogen corridors are located in heavy industry regions using by-product hydrogen as hydrogen resource:
Anyang-Liaocheng Corridor: 240 km, 64 hydrogen heavy duty trucks are operating along this line with 4 hydrogen refilling stations;
Tianjin Port-Dingzhou Corridor: 200 km, 122 hydrogen heavy duty trucks;
Xian-Hancheng Corridor: 270 km
As more hydrogen corridors are put into operation, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in heavy road transportation field can be tested in various conditions and environments, which will provide valuable experiences to scale up hydrogen application in China.
