Yuchai to invest 1.7 billion Rmb building fuel cell and PEM electrolyser manufacturing line
(Wuxi, Jiangsu Province) China Yuchai International, a public company listed in NYSE (Ticker: CYD) and headquartered in Yulin, Guangxi, announced on Sep 28th it will invest 1.7 billion Rmb ($230 mn) to establish a fuel cell and PEM electrolyser production base in Wuxi, Jiangsu province. Once fully operational, this plant has a capacity of 2,000 units fuel cell system and 500MW electrolyser annually.
China Yuchai International Limited (NYSE: CYD) ("China Yuchai" or the "Company"), is a leading manufacturer and distributor of diesel engines for on- and off-road applications in China. In term of sales, the company is the largest independent vehicle diesel powertrain producer in China.
China Yuchai International Limited, through its subsidiary, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company Limited ("GYMCL"), engages in the manufacture, assembly, and sale of a wide variety of light-, medium- and heavy-duty engines for trucks, buses, passenger vehicles, construction equipment, marine and agriculture applications in China. In 2022, GYMCL sold 321,256 diesel engines.
China Yuchai has engaged in research and innovation of fuel cell technologies since 2021. Through cooperations with leading scientists in Tsinghua University, the company has released first fuel cell system in Oct 2022. The manufacturing base in Wuxi will make Yuchai become a major player in China’s booming hydrogen fuel cell industry.

Beside fuel cell stack and system, Yuchai also engages in the hydrogen combustion technology, it has released China’s first hydrogen combustion engine in 2022.
